You are here: Food & Drink > Nourish at 44
Opened in 2012. This cafe/bistro in the market town of Belper Derbyshire has been transformed with extensive works from the formerly run down old Imperial Vaults pub.
Owned and run by married couple Ali and head chef Perry Nadin. We pride ourselves on running a privately owned, independent business. We employ 20 members of staff all from the local area.
The menu is filled with top quality locally sourced ingredients, which we showcase on a blackboard behind the counter.
Nourish is open for breakfast through to dinner. By day it’s a busy café serving breakfast , lunch, coffees and handmade cakes; at night it transforms into an intimate, stylish, candle-lit bistro offering an individual twist on French and British classics.
In 2016, Nourish at No. 44 underwent an extensive £100k refurbishment, opening upstairs and doubling the amount of space for diners. Using only local tradesmen to undergo all of the works. From the builders, plumbers, electricians , plasterers and even the metal stair case was made locally. We also added a cocktail bar, which complements the live musicians who play here at weekends.
In the summer you can dine al-fresco in the ‘Secret Garden’, which is set to hold mini-festivals in the near future.
The team have shown just how much can be achieved by hard work, passion, an eye for detail and a love for well-cooked, locally sourced food.
Nourish at No 44 works incredibly hard to beat gravity and rise above the status of generic town centre cafe to become something far classier. And it’s this heroic effort to do something special, and to do it with pride, that has won us some awards against some truly brilliant opposition.
Best Restaurant - Great Food Club 2017 / 2018.
