Discover Belper and explore

Belper is a town that works as a community – and indeed a town that plays as a community too.

From being one of the first 'Mill Towns' in the late 1700s to becoming a hotspot for unique independent businesses, a hub for artists and artisans, and a whole host of community driven events all wrapped in an extraordinary setting along the River Derwent.

Walk around our historic cobbled streets or explore one of our parks and walking trails.
The North Mill Museum is the perfect place to learn about our past. The fabulous events, often created by the Belper community, include The Belper Arts Trail, Pride in Belper, Belper Goes Green and Belper Fringe and indicate where we are going in the future!

Belper is conveniently located 10 miles from Derby, and just 10 miles from the edge of The Peak District.
Our town is always welcoming and always surprising.
